I love my Grandma :)

Last week Morgan and I traveled home to visit my family for Thanksgiving.  After we had eaten our Thanksgiving feast we packed up the pumpkin pies and headed off to the Fountains Nursing home to eat dessert with my Grandma Frances.  For those of you who don't know my grandma has Alzheimers and she lives in Bettendorf at a 24 hour care home.  We had SO much fun eating dessert with her and enjoyed making her laugh!  Towards the end things got very goofy and we couldn't get a good picture with her because she kept making silly faces!  Take a look...

You can see the tongue is coming out...
Now I'm just egging her on
 This one is my favorite!

 Finally a good one!
Morgan and I also stoped by Wapsie Pines and found our Christmas Tree!

All State Again!

I have a very talented younger brother! Last weekend we went to watch him sing, for the third time, at All State.  For those of you who don't know what All State is basically people try out and only about the top 1.5% of musicians in Iowa make it.  From my high school I only know of one person to have made it all 4 years so the fact that my brother has made it three times and is only a Junior makes me a VERY proud big sister! Below are some pictures of us before the concert! WAY TO GO KELLEN...I am so proud of you :)

Morgan and I with the All Stater
 Now add my sister Kara
 My parents with Kellen
Everyone holding up three hands for the three years
Ok now we're just being silly...but I must say that face took years of practice

Two adults...at Disney!

Last week Morgan had a conference in Orlando, Florida!  The conference was at the Coronado Resort on the Disney grounds.  I have never stayed at Disney so this was a fun time for the both of us! I was really impressed with the pool, the scenery, and the resort in general.  However, I thought our room was kind of a let down.  The first morning we didn't have coffee to make, when we arrived Morgan found leftover food in the fridge, there was voice mails left on the phone from the previous guest.  Maybe that's a little picky but then I just can't help but wonder what other things were not done...oh well we survived and had a lot of fun.  It was kind of fun to just go the two of us we defiantly stuck out because we didn't have any kids!  I couldn't believe how many families were there with the tiny little babies!! If you're gonna go to Disney though the week after Halloween is the best! I think the longest we waited in line for anything was 20 minutes! I remember going when I was a little girl and waiting in line for HOURS! I told Morgan if we ever bring our future family this is we will go for sure!!!
Below are some pictures from our trip enjoy :)
While at the conference we had to go on some tours.  This was a phosphate mine on the Pioneer tour.  It was kind of interesting but mostly a guy thing.  Above is the crane thing they use to dig up the phosphate it was HUGE!
Morgan and I standing in the digger part of the crane.  It was big enough to hold our whole group and they said it was about as big as a dump truck!
Me in front of the Lion King Tree...the tree of life I think?

Morgan and I waiting in line for the "It's a Bugs Life" 3D show
Morgan and I on the safari at Animal Kingdom! So cool how close we got to so many animals!
We couldn't go to Florida without going to Harry Potter land! Well Morgan could have...but I think he still had fun!
Me drinking some butterbeer...it was delicious!

Outside my window

One thing that I was looking forward to this fall was seeing what color our trees would turn!  This is the beautiful view we have outside our back window :)  I'm not really a fan of the colder seasons but I really love this weather!  I'm not looking forward to raking up these leaves though...that's why God created husbands though right?

Changing Seasons

There have been a lot of changes in our small family these past few months. I have taken on a new position at Orchard Hill Church, Morgan has been busy at work and getting our house ready for the cold winter and we celebrated our first anniversary in August.

Today is the 2nd full week that I've been working as the Nursery Coordinator at OHC. I love working with the other ladies on the Children's Ministry team. I also have enjoyed seeing God work these past few weeks in the lives of children! Last week we handed out Bibles to SO many second graders and it was just so much fun to see them excited about it! I can't wait to witness God changing the lives of so many children!

Morgan has been busy at Hertz and doing updates on our house. Since we've owned it in April he's done so many things and I feel so blessed to have a handy-man husband! He (along with his brother, dad and friend) cut down some HUGE tree limbs off our tree in the backyard. He also helped me create a garden where we had a abundance of cucumbers (note for next year).

In August we spent the day with our families in the Amana Colonies celebrating our Anniversary! It was fun to get the families together and eat good food and do some shopping. The year went by SO incredibly fast and we had so many great memories and some struggles as well. I'm hoping to do a better job documenting the upcoming years!

Buying a House!

Well some of you may know that Morgan and I are in the process of purchasing our first home! We've put an offer on a house and it was accepted which is really excited. The house is really close to our duplex so it should be a pretty easy move if everything works out!

Lots to do before we close! Pray that all goes well :)
